Q: Can a first name, date of birth and death be added to the stone. Also is the message on the stone engraved or how is it done? Thanks

It cannot be personalized. The text is etched into the stone.

Tip: The stones that can be personalized with have "Personalize" in the name of the product and will have fields in which to enter the text. The image will also show personalization. Here's an example:
